This summer I took a week long trip to the Princess Louisa inlet in British Columbia, Canada. I went with a bunch of teenagers my age, we went via Beyond Malibu which is a YoungLife camp. I have gone up the Beyond Malibu for the past three years and consider it a home away from home. Here are some photos from my trip this year, my group hiked Mt. Albert.
Two of the girls and I woke up at sunrise, if you ever go hiking I strongly recommend doing this. A sunrise from the top of a mountain is absolutely gorgeous. In the northern cascades all the mountains are back light by orange, hot pink, gold, and scarlet. If you have ever seen the Patagonia logo its kinda like that. I'm the one in the above picture btw.
One of the glacier pools that we got to swim in. The water was amazing, especially after we had been hiking. The year before I had gone in July and this entire area was covered in snow, it was such a shock to come back and see it melted. I'm not complaining though because hiking in snow is a pain and their were so many fairy tale esque wildflowers on the trail.
This is at the base camp for Beyond. Base camp is probably my favorite part of Beyond because you can hear stories from all the other trips that went up mountains that week. When I stayed at base camp 3 years ago all I did was bake bread in the kitchen and paddle board with seals, what a life. In the future i really I want to work at base camp, lets all cross our fingers.
My friend Jane braided my hair at the beginning of the week and look at how cool it is! I wish I knew how to braid my own hair like this. I would wear long dresses and put flowers in my hair like a hippie lady ( or free people model ).
I might do another post about base camp in the future talking about the camp and what it means to me but idk yet.
