A Study In Pink

I think pink is one of those colors that can just make me smile, its my power color, my "I feel awesome" color.  Recently I've fallen in love with pink even more, so much that my closet looks like that of Dolores Umbridge...
But how can I resit when all I think about when wearing these clothes are strawberries, pink poodles, and cotton candy. Its safe to say I'm obsessed.
Lately I've been pairing pink with heather grey, tan, oxblood, or black. I'm a sucker for neutrals but I think adding pink to an outfit can give it a super girly pop of color.
Baby pink has been in a lot of stores lately, I think it the winter I'm going to pair a lot of my things with white. (big fluffy white sweaters anyone?) I never miss an opportunity to look like Princess Bubblegum.

I Can Go The Distance

This summer I took a week long trip to the Princess Louisa inlet in British Columbia, Canada. I went with a bunch of teenagers my age, we went via Beyond Malibu which is a YoungLife camp. I have gone up the Beyond Malibu for the past three years and consider it a home away from home. Here are some photos from my trip this year, my group hiked Mt. Albert.

Two of the girls and I woke up at sunrise, if you ever go hiking I strongly recommend doing this. A sunrise from the top of a mountain is absolutely gorgeous. In the northern cascades all the mountains are back light by orange, hot pink, gold, and scarlet. If you have ever seen the Patagonia logo its kinda like that. I'm the one in the above picture btw.

One of the glacier pools that we got to swim in. The water was amazing, especially after we had been hiking. The year before I had gone in July and this entire area was covered in snow, it was such a  shock to come back and see it melted. I'm not complaining though because hiking in snow is a pain and their were so many fairy tale esque wildflowers on the trail.

This is at the base camp for Beyond. Base camp is probably my favorite part of Beyond because you can hear stories from all the other trips that went up mountains that week. When I stayed at base camp 3 years ago all I did was bake bread in the kitchen and paddle board with seals, what a life.  In the future i really I want to work at base camp, lets all cross our fingers.

My friend Jane braided my hair at the beginning of the week and look at how cool it is! I wish I knew how to braid my own hair like this. I would wear long dresses and put flowers in my hair like a hippie lady ( or free people model ).

I might do another post about base camp in the future talking about the camp and what it means to me but idk yet.

I Could See For Miles, Miles, Miles

One of the many pictures i took while we went driving, probably as I was listening to Bon Iver (because of course). I swear the song Holocene was made for long drives in Iceland because it fits so perfectly, its makes total sense for why the music video was filmed there.

Sorta the Icelandic equivalent to Niagara falls
This is the blue lagoon, its sort of a natural spa made from a hot spring. Seriously the most relaxing place on earth, the water is a milky blue because of the white sulfur from the hot springs and you can use the white clay as a face mask (they sell it at the gift shop but it was out of my price range). The mask is super clarifying and helps moisturize the skin, they keep it in big buckets all around the lagoon so you can use it whenever you want. We arrived at the lagoon just after our flight (its only about 15 minutes from the airport) and let me tell you, best post flight experience ever. I had already been suffering from a lot of congestion which only got worse after the 8 hour flight, the steam was so relaxing and cleared my head and the hot water almost put me to sleep. The mask helped my skin recover almost 100% from the flight, it felt like what i imagine it feels like when you get an extra life in a video game after you had been run over by a monster. If anyone is traveling through Iceland and has a couple hours to spare I would definitely recommend going here.
I love a good pastel pink house, the person who lives here is a lucky duck.

Let's see how this works

I have felt such a need to blog lately and not just casual tumblr blogging but like actual blogging. The last time I blogged was in 7th grade, and since then that blog has been deleted (super cringe) but maybe it's time to step back into the lime light/computer screen light?
